CONTRA-TIEMPO‘s Ana Maria Alvarez just finished a new piece, ‘wade en el agua’, that premiered yesterday at the Mark Taper Forum’s pond as part of the Music Center’s Moves After Dark new series. Next performances are on July 14, 20 and 21. ‘wade en el agua’ was set on former company members and community members who have been engaged in the creation process of ‘Agua Furiosa’, the company’s new work which is inspired by Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’ as well as the Yoruba deity of the wind and storms, Oya.
